Parents/Guardians Information Meeting

 in

 Ballysax School Hall

 on

 Wednesday 2nd October

 at

 7.30pm.

Our school has chosen to take part in the School Inclusion Model Initiative for the 2019-20 school year.

Who does this benefit?

The good news is every single child in our school can and will benefit from this programme.

How does this benefit each child?

It’s about having the support of a Speech & Language Therapist and an Occupational Therapist specifically for all of the children in our school.

Why would my child need the support of a Speech and Language Therapist and an Occupational Therapist?

This will enable us to empower your child to reach their full potential.  And the good news is, all parents and guardians can learn how to be involved in this too.  The most benefit will be gained by the children if school and home work together on this.

What are the benefits of Speech and Language?

Research has shown that the implementation of a S&L programme in a school has a very significant impact on a child’s ability to communicate, thus building confidence. The benefit to parents is that you can have an increased knowledge of how to help your child at home. The S&L programme that will be run in Ballysax is called Talk Time – and that’s exactly what it is! It’s about talking, discussing, building understanding, embedding communication skills – and there’s no writing involved – just talking!

What are the benefits of Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy (OT): OT is proven to benefit children by increasing and improving their self awareness skills. It can help children improve concentration levels, self regulation and social engagement. The benefit to running OT programmes in Ballysax school is that you can be involved in encouraging your child to use strategies they have learned to address self regulation, social engagement and motor skills.

How do you find out more?

Meet the therapists who are working in our school and they will explain how they are going to support our school and how you can support your child/children with Speech and Language and Occupational Therapy programmes at home.

As a school we highly value the input of the parents and guardians of our children to help each and every one of them fulfil their potential through the different stages of their development.

PLEASE SHOW YOUR SUPPORT BY JOINING US AT 7.30PM ON WEDNESDAY 2ND OCTOBER IN BALLYSAX SCHOOL HALL.

PLEASE ATTEND.   ALL WELCOME
