Julius Arega and Gerry O’Donoghue from Maintain Hope came to visit us today and tell us about their work in Kenya to support families who are in difficulty, to avoid them having to send their children to orphanages because they can’t afford to look after them. It was Julius’s first time in Ireland and he very kindly answered all of our questions about life in Kenya.
Julius became involved with the charity while he worked on building projects in Ngong. He is now Chairperson of Rays of Hope who are partners with Maintain Hope.  Julius was raised in an institution himself  and knows how important it is to keep children in the family home which is the goal of their work in Kenya. Both Julius and Gerry had very interesting stories to tell us and we really enjoyed their visit. Their motto is:

Karibu rafiki yangu! There is always hope.
