Kandinsky Circle Painting in Rang a dó

2nd class have been learning about the work of Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky. They created ‘circle paintings’ using colours that they mixed themselves. We learnt about warm and cool colours, primary and secondary colours and we used tints and shades to mix our own colours.

First Holy Communion

Orienteering in 2nd class

In PE 2nd class have been working in pairs and groups to complete different orienteering activities and treasure hunts. We had an Easter hunt and we decided to reward our hard work with some delicious Easter egg nest baking. .                                      

Seachtain na Gaeilge!

Book Week fun!!!

Second class had a great time reading to their ‘reading buddies’ from Junior and Senior Infants. They also really enjoyed the visit from author Martina O’ Reilly. 1st and 2nd class acted out different fairy tales and played lots of fun drama games.

Wonderful water

2nd class have been learning lots about water in the last few weeks. We have been learning about the water cycle, sinking and floating and water conservation. 2nd class came up with some great tips for saving water both at home and at school.
